We enjoyed our trips to Portland and our weekends on the Whitehurst. It seemed that the Chiefs preferred the Cadets over the Reservists, we worked harder. While on the Whitehurst, I enjoyed working in the various sections especially in medical. By 1972, I was on active duty and finishing my first Navy school, that led me to my lifetime career in medicine.
